SUMMARY:PMO: The PMO’s role in Talent Risk Management
DESCRIPTION:The goal of a project is always to build something new. It is u
nique &ndash\; in time\, variables\, risks\, and resources because the exa
ct combination of those elements only happens once.&nbsp\; Good project ma
nagement includes risk management\, but we often forget about the risks re
lated to our &ldquo\;human&rdquo\; resources.&nbsp\; Those risks can have
a high impact on the project&rsquo\;s success.&nbsp\; To successfully ensu
re your project delivers and reaches the assigned goals\, it is proactive
to create a talent risk management plan to assess and plan for the risk an
d retention challenges of your &ldquo\;human&rdquo\; project resources.&nb
 sp\;
In this presentation\, we will discuss how the PMO can promote best
practices in talent risk management strategy\, how to develop standardize
d processes for recruiting\, vetting and managing &ldquo\;human&rdquo\; pr
oject resources\, and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of your resou
rces vs. control and authority. We&rsquo\;ll consider how the PMO can supp
ort PMs&rsquo\; management of indirect relationships\, understanding diffe
rent value propositions for different resources\, and blending skills and
expectations of resources to produce high quality results for your stakeho
lders.&nbsp\; You will benefit from lessons learned in over 120 projects\,
from years of experience as an HR practitioner and a project manager\, an
d from a senior perspective as an executive.
