DESCRIPTION:Abstract
 Managing a meeting tends to be a skill often overloo
 ked by leaders and managers.&nbsp\;A meeting can be an efficient and power
 ful way to make decisions\, disseminate information\, build relationships 
 or&nbsp\;otherwise&nbsp\;get things done\, but only when it is productive.
  In this session\, Darlena will discuss how to conduct productive meetings
 \,&nbsp\;while engaging participants in activities aimed at reinforcing le
 arned skills. This presentation uses a framework provided by Toastmasters 
 International—among the premier public speaking and professional develop
 ment organizations in the world. It approaches meeting&nbsp\;productivity 
 in the context of working remotely.

 About the Speaker
 
 Darlena Swann\,&nbsp\
 ;MBA\, joined Toastmasters International to overcome her fear of public sp
 eaking. This year she hopes to become a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)--t
 he organization's highest educational award.&nbsp\;She is a member of two 
 clubs: Blue Devil and Bull City Toastmasters. In 2018-19 she served as Are
 a Director and earned the Select Distinguished&nbsp\;status.
 Darlena is 
 an educator in the Durham Public School System\, CEO and Founder of her ow
 n nonprofit\, Boss Lady Enterprise\, and author of the motivational book t
 itled\, \"The Ladybug - Words from the Heart.\" Her&nbsp\;passions are&nbs
 p\;community outreach service\, youth mentoring\, yoga\, and professional 
 development.&nbsp\;
