 Abstract
 Speech Contests provide excellent opportuniti
 es to accelerate the development of speaking skills. The competitive envir
 onment causes contestants to spend several hours writing\, rewriting and r
 ehearsing the delivery of their speech. This activity requires focus\, ene
 rgy and intense desire\, and often produces the contestants' best work.
 
 A speech contest is a project\, which offers opportunities to practice and
  develop leadership and project management skills in a low risk environmen
 t.
 This contest will involve an inspirational speech\, which can also be
  educational or humorous. It is the start of a process for selecting conte
 stants for the Toastmasters International Contest to be held in August 201
 9\, in Denver\, Colorado.
 The Table Topics contest challenges speakers t
 o demonstrate their impromtu speaking skills by responding to a topic bein
 g heard for the first time. These contests often provide a rich source of 
 entertainment for the audience.
